Window Track and Sill Cleaning in Galisteo
In Galisteo the sill and reveal are the job. Deep adobe openings collect basin silt and hold it, and that trapped material is what reloads the glass. We clear the openings and channels by hand and detail the frames.
Volume of water is the wrong tool against a soft plaster reveal — it marks the finish and drives silt further into the wall. This is patient hand work with controlled water, which is slower and the only approach that doesn't do damage.

Common Questions
- Can the reveals be cleaned without marking the plaster?
- Yes, by hand with controlled water. It's slower than hosing but it's the only way that doesn't leave marks on traditional finishes.
- Is this really necessary?
- In Galisteo more than anywhere. The recess is a silt trap, and leaving it full means the pane is dirty again within days of cleaning.
- How often should Galisteo homes have track cleaning done?
- Every visit — the openings refill whenever the basin blows.
